Ravenel Associates Participates in Toys for Tots Collection Campaign

COMPANY-WIDE HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE

Ravenel Associates, Ravenel Commercial Properties, and Ravenel Associates Real Estate (RARE Charleston) took part in the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys For Tots toy drive campaign, whose objective is to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas.

The Ravenel company-wide collaborative began collecting toys in November after volunteering to become a toy drop off location in their offices at 960 Morrison Drive, Charleston. As an additional incentive to collect toys, Ravenel Associates also donated $1 to the Lowcountry Food Bank for each toy received. On the final day of collection, they had received over 100 toys and thus donated $100 to the Lowcountry Food Bank.

“We had been discussing a way our three companies could work together to give back to our local community. Last year, we were a donation location for Toys For Tots and also participated in a campaign to raise money for the Lowcountry Food Bank. This year we thought it would be a neat incentive to combine the two,” said Lori Crowley, marketing coordinator of the Ravenel companies.

According to their website, Toys For Tots was approved in 1995 by the Secretary of Defense as an official activity of the U.S. Marine Corps and has distributed over 512 million toys since its inception. Lowcountry Food Bank was founded in 1983 and serves the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina and aims to distribute more than 24 million pounds of food each year.

“We are thrilled that we had our employees come together to make a difference in our local community. This combined project was a perfect way to give back during the holiday season,” said Ravenel Associates’ President, Jules Deas.
